We've finally put Movember to rest - here's how he grew this year:

Last year's pics were oddly akin to Kip from Napoleon Dynamite but this year his coworkers said he had the look of a '70s porn star. Hmmmm. He looks about 20 years younger with that mop chopped off, don't you think?

I tried to get him to wear his ponytail to work but he said that was too far. People wouldn't know he was joking. What?? Isn't 8 months worth of hair growth and a handlebar moustache already too far? Funny that he was hesitant about their reaction... I was told later that when he walked down the aisle in his 70s shirt with his arms up Rocky-style to receive his "Best Moustache All Around" award they were all laughing and clapping their approval. Aaaaand it was all worth it!

Can't decide if he looks more like his 19 year old self or his 30 year old dad.

It's funny how we ladies have ample opportunities to change our looks any old time we want, but thank you, Movember, for letting men in on the fun too. (And for a good cause.) 'Til next year...

The Hair

Some of you may have been wondering what's going on with Darren's hair...

C'mon, admit it - you were curious.

I think it started out as an innocent mistake. Then we just got lazy. Then it turned into a grand experiment. It's literally never been this long. Now it's all about the challenge.

"Mo-vember" has begun and this massive mop will now be complimented by his manly moustache. All in the name of men's health and raising awareness for mental illness. He's even making weekly treats to fundraise at work. What a guy.

We both are kinda liking the look. Although I think he wishes we weren't alone - the only comments he gets are of the "So... you're growing your hair out, huh?" kind.

And the gently honest, "If you're going for the older look, it's working for ya." Hahaha.

I'll keep you posted as the 'stache fills out - we had some awesome photo shoots with the handlebars last year.
