Views From the Kitchen Sink

I won't say it's my favorite spot in the house, but it certainly is the spot I find myself in most. 

The kitchen sink. At least it provides some pretty good views.

7 am: "Can I water the strawberries?" I could eat. her. with. a. spoon.

"Comfy throne. Holding brother's hand. Watching this flashy TV thingie? I could get use to this!"

Chores and sibling love is hard to beat. But when I turned around to this one, I caught my breath. Has YOUR husband ever come home from Costco with 15 dozen eggs?? For those of you too tired to math it up: that's 180 eggs. Um... yeah. He now knows that eggs have an expiry date. And I now know, eggs are freezable. :)

Over the break, we shared "chook-duty" over at the school with a friend and what a kick!

Summer ate it up (real chickens beat Peek-a-Boo Barn chickens anyday.) Treasure hunting for eggs in the mornings was a fought-over task.

In the words of Miley Cyrus "Ain't nothin' better than farm-fresh eggs for breakfast!" Seriously, look at those beauties. Freshly laid, plucked warm from the roost - they were delish.

 Can you tell which ones were fresh and which were store-bought??

A Day at the Beach

 Ahh, the beach. Took a quick day trip with friends over the break to breathe in some coastal air.

Couldn't leave without stopping by our favorite, "Pebbly Beach" where we were greeted by a variety of friendly parrots.


Summer scrunched down in distress whenever they landed on her head, but the kids could've stayed in the parking lot another hour I'm sure.

 Down the path there opens up this beautiful stretch of shoreline where mild-mannered, wild kangaroos live beach-side.



(Being there sorta makes me feel like any minute I'm going to see giant Teletubbies peek out and dance around those green rolling hills. So idyllic.)

This had to be an old grandpa roo. Big, bony and real slow.

 Of course the boys were too busy sword fighting in the waves to be distracted by the wildlife. :)
